i was in france last month and the posters were everywhere. I know, it's judging the book by it's cover but the monster in the poster looked so creepy. I cant get it outta my head I'm dreamin about the freakin movie before i even see it. That only happened to me twice-- with "The Crow" and "Pirates of the Carribean Curse of the Black Pearl"

Yes - saw it last weekend and was pretty impressed with it.

It reminded me of a film/films i saw as a child...but when i try to think back i can't remember which ones (maybe its just the kind of film i'd like to have seen as a child).

That said its definitely not meant for children - the entire feel of the film is 'dark' and there are a few brutal scenes dotted throughout. Its well worth taking the time to watch and has 'a certain something' about it i can't quite place.

1: I hope it's a lot better than Crow or Pirates!

The director's track record gives me a good deal of confidence in it.

I really liked Pan's Labyrinth (Spanish with English subs ;).
You could imagine it as a mix of The Company of Wolves, Narnia and Harry Potter. But it certainly is intended for a mature audience for the 'real world part' of the movie is more cruel than the 'monster/fantasy part'.

I haven't... but I wanna check it out, even if the reviews in Brasil say it sucks...

YES, LOVED it, one of the greatest flicks ever! There were a couple parts that made me wince.... that guys kinda brutal eh... Not really 'Creepy' [cept for the one bit when the thingies chasing...] or 'Scary' it's not a horror movie really... more fantasy/civil warish....

is there any nudity or sex in it?

if not, then it sounds like it could be OK for kids.

An R rating in the States for 'graphic violence' and some of the reviews I've seen would suggest otherwise. Depends on the kids in question though I suppose. It's rated 15 in the UK if that's any help.
